Latdogg's Starfield Review Xbox Series X|S, 10-20 hours played

Being a huge Elder Scrolls and Fallout fan, I had been greatly looking forward to this game. After spending some time playing, I am not really impressed. It is just boring. The universe is massive but feels empty. As far as gameplay, if you are familiar with Bethesda you will already know how it is. There is plenty to do and explore, however, it is very redundant. The graphics are good and everything, but I just can't get into it. The story is just so boring, it didn't pull me in at all.

@Latdogg Agreed, the planets are a bit sparsely populated with interesting things. It's mostly procedurally generated sadly. The cities don't feel very alive either. It all feels too "safe." Let's hope the near future updates and Shattered Space expansion fix some of that! I also hope there's some endgame goodies waiting for me, but I've been doing a lot of side quests instead of finishing the main quest line. xD

@blustrkr Yea, I want to keep playing but I am just bored when I do. In Elder Scrolls I loved exploring and wandering from the main path. Starfield just feels lame, I have zero desire to go explore random planets because it is just the same old stuff. I think they went with quantity over quality.

Yeah considering the length of development, it was a bit underwhelming. I was impressed with all the upgrades they made to the Creation engine though, and I've still logged over 5 days of play time. I've heard there is some interesting endgame content, but it's all level 70+ and I'm not quite there yet. D:
