Just purchased Odyssey the other day and I am really excited with this game. I love how they went much deeper this time around with the RPG elements. Ship fighting is back again also which is always an appreciated AC staple IMO. The visuals look great too; I can only imagine how it looks on Xbox One X or PC.

Has anyone else tried it? What are your thoughts?

Also, I haven't gotten or played Origins yet. I heard Odyssey makes it look like a demo. That is to say, it had a lot of these more RPG-like changes, but at a lower level compared to Odyssey (from what I hear). I have still always been interested in Origins and would like to hear your thoughts regarding it.

I used to play AC a lot back in the day but got kind of bored, so I'm really happy to be playing again.

I have only played two AC games (III and IV). I liked them both a lot but each game I got to a certain point where I was just bored and over it. I swore that I would never buy/play one again, and I haven't. That was until I saw the trailer for Valhalla. I will be diving back into the world of AC with that game, I love Viking lore and that era. I am excited to play it!

I just watched the trailer for the first time, definitely looks like a similar style to Odyssey but in the Viking setting. Super cool! I'm sure it will be great. Plus, I heard over 15 studios have co-developed this so quite a lot of manpower has gone into making it happen. I think that's pretty typical of Assassin's Creed titles though. It will also be interesting to see what this looks like on next-gen hardware, since it will basically be a launch title for the Series X and PS5.

I have not tried Odyssey, but I have heard really good things about it. The last AC game I really got into was Black Flag, and I loved the ship fighting element. Perhaps, I'll have to check out Odyssey at some point. However; Valhalla does sound pretty dope, especially because of the fact that it'll most likely be a launch title for the next gen systems. I hope AC can find a way to make it feel unique or push it further than I can currently expect, but time will tell, I guess.

Well if you're anything like me then, you'll love Odyssey because it has plenty of it! I could, and have, honestly spent hours just fighting other ships. It's pretty fun, visually pleasing, and a good way to farm some much-needed resources.

I know what you mean about making it feel more unique, as the AC series was having titles pushed out left and right for a bit there. But it seems like with Origins, Odyssey, and now Valhalla they've taken a bit more time to craft a more unique world each time around, and of course the added RPG mechanics are great. I still love the older games but they were getting a bit repetitive for sure. I just never really cared that much because I still love the gameplay and the lore/dialogue/questlines etc.

It will be great to sink some time into a new gen of gaming! Looks like it's time to get our servers upgraded for some video content D:
