Hello! I've been working on a 3D puzzle game, and I have a bit of a peek into what I've been working on. Still very early stages, but I'm excited to show what I've built so far.

Built in C++ using OpenGL, basically everything has been coded from scratch.

Audio didn't record for this time, but the beginning stuff is hopefully self-explanatory.

Let me know what you think!

Looking good man! Lag free :D

I like that you already have some basic lighting in there, and can't wait to see what you can do with some backgrounds and different lighting, etc.

Do you plan on allowing players to rotate the cube on all axes simultaneously, perhaps by right clicking and dragging? Just an idea.

Also, thanks for making the first post in The Foundry! Hopefully we will have more coming soon :D

Thanks for the feedback!

That's the idea! I definitely need to work on the camera, it's just a place holder. Camera work is so hard, haha. I keep running into gimbal lock.

I plan to release more once more progress is visible!

Great, that will help with the controls of the game big time.

Another thing that might be worth looking into is some basic multiplayer functionality, perhaps where you're racing the other player to completion of the cube? Record times on leaderboards, etc. I would love to help out with any server needs. :D

Oh wow, I never even thought of that. That'd be really interesting!

One thought I have had is to have levels saved to a server, and downloaded in packs.

It would indeed be interesting, and I'm sure relatively easy to expand on over time via updates or sequels perhaps! :P

That would be cool, and you could do whatever you want but I think it'd be neat to give away several free ones, but charge for some of the bigger more premium packs. Then you'd be able to do this kind of thing full time!

You wouldn't have to charge very much, maybe like 99 cents.

Tons actually. I need to make a new video, haha.

I really should have made one in between to better show the progress.

Please do! I will check back here when you've posted one. I would be happy to see any changes you've made and offer feedback if you'd like.

Don't worry about it, that just means you've been focusing extra attention on the game. ;)
