This is just a general thread discussing the possibilities of Skyrim being an MMO. I personally love this game and I believe it has everything needed to entertain the average gamer. I just believe the one thing that could really "make" the game would be to add some sort of multiplayer aspect to it. In this way, players can not only complete the single player, but they can interact with their friends online in some sort of epic gaming experience. Feel free to post your thoughts, opinions, or other ideas about the possibility of Skyrim being an MMO.

Bethesda has tons of RPG experience by now, what with 5 Elder Scrolls games and DLC for the more recent ones. Let's not forget Fallout 3 either. They certainly should know how to keep players addicted by now, and I think that shows with Skyrim. I'm happy to see it so successful.

As for the multiplayer, yes. Like I just said, they have the experience. Now they just need to add online functionality. Even something as simple as the Fable 3 online co-op would suffice (for now). I think a full-blown MMORPG from them would eventually take WoW's spot. It's definitely starting to show its age, so now would be the time for Bethesda to make a move.

I can certainly agree with you on the fact that it would take WoW's spot. If Bethesda can make a proper move sometime in the near future, that would be very interesting to see how that plays out. If, in fact it is being worked on by a modding team, this would make me incredibly excited :D

Yeah, my friend's brother is part of the modding team doing it actually. I'll try get a link off him later tonight when I get onto Teamspeak.

Wow, that's very cool. I didn't expect anything to be worked on at this moment. Thanks for the notice, who knows what the future will bring...

Yeah I'd expect Skyrim to have an active modding community, I've seen some pretty impressive mods from previous Elder Scrolls games. George, which game do you play that you use Teamspeak for?

I had a borrowed copy for a bit, it just left me craving the game even more. It's most likely my next game purchase. Plus, they're probably going to be dropping info on the first expansion soon.

Skryim is the epitome of epicness...I cannot wait for future DLC, whatever shape or form. This game supplies a plethora of hours and I never find myself in the land of boredom.

lol well Bethesda said to look out for a DLC announcement soon. Can't wait to see what giant expansion they have in store. :) I really need to get caught up before I fall even further behind.

Speaking of DLC, what if their announcement was an Elder Scrolls Online add-on? Oh man that would be epic.

I think epic would indeed be an understatement.

Whatever type of DLC they do announce, I will be ready to hop on that faster than fleas on shit. If you need any help getting caught up, feel free to contact me. I love talking about Skyrim and it's vast supply of epicness. New characters and new things make me happy on the inside lol.

Well it's our lucky day...Elder Scrolls Online was just announced. Hopefully we'll hear more about it at E3.

The Elder Scrolls Online will be the first Elder Scrolls game that allows players to explore the fantasy world with others. Featured on the upcoming magazine's June cover, The Elder Scrolls Online will include three playable factions and takes place a millennium before Skyrim. Due out next year on both PC and Mac, the Hero Engine-powered game will have players fighting against the daedric prince Molag Bal who is trying to pull all of Tamriel into his demonic realm.

The game's solo questing, public dungeons and player-driven PvP will all be detailed in 12 pages of content in the upcoming June issue of Game Informer, set to hit stands and subscriber mailboxes this month. PvP, the mag reports, pits the game's three factions against one another in open-world warfare "over the province of Cyrodiil and the Emperor's throne itself."
