To play with other players, go into the settings of the game and activate Disable AI Companion, enable Use Multiplayer Filter, and then press Up on the D-Pad. This will ping other players. They should join persistently throughout your journey using this method. If you want to play with someone in particular, use the option Multiplayer Filter Code and make sure you and your friend have the same code set. It's easier to get matched up with someone near a Ritual Stone or outside of a dungeon. Also keep in mind that if you're not at the same spot in the story or at least very close, it will be harder to get matched up.
Multiplayer/PvP submitted by blustrkr 2 years agoWhen you kill enemies, you'll get Scoria as a result. You can save it up, and when you return to Vagrant's Rest use it to upgrade your Gourd (allowing you to heal more), weapons, and Talismans/Relics. You'll want to do this quite a bit (with some grinding if necessary) to bulk up your character before you take on bigger fights. You can also use it to trade with the Vagrant traders for common items, such as White Sapote. Be careful, if you die you'll drop all of your Scoria. You can still try to make it to the same spot you died to reclaim it, but if you die again it's gone forever.
General Gameplay submitted by blustrkr 2 years agoCombat can be punishing, especially when you're first getting started. It's nice to have a human companion play with you rather than AI, but that might not be possible. Get acquainted with pressing B (on Xbox at least) to dodge and holding B to sprint away from combat if necessary.
