Bhdan's Visage Review PC, 10-20 hours played

Well well well.. Visage.. where to begin?

Would it be the frightening similarity to silent hills' ''P.T'' (that was discontinued after the demo) having to deal with a constant looming threat?
The anxiety of being chased through hallways like in outlast?
The most subtle hints and illusive puzzle method that starts you with very little to go off and feeling like you're going insane?

Don't get me wrong, I'm not hating on the game at all, or saying its a rip off. It definitely took some of the best concepts from other horror games, but Visage reinvents it in its own unique way. The combination of having to rack your brain trying to work out what you need to do next or where to go, with so little to go off, essentially leaving you to have no choice but to pace the house back and forth (a house that's got more than just you in it), stumbling through the dark most times, looking for tools and items to help you along your way.

I might add that the visuals of this game were amazing, the lighting and shadows were really well done, and overall the game provided a film like realism to the rooms that made the immersion feel complete.

In Visage you'll have to deal with a house that seems alive, lights turning off at random, doors slamming, and TV's turning on for no reason, and a variety of dark threats that will get you if you stray from the light for too long or if your sanity drops too low, forcing you to rely on any light source possible and a finite medication supply to keep the darkness at bay.

why?

well that's why you'll have to play to find out.

Overall:

if you enjoy puzzles with very little explanation or inclination as to what to do next and require thorough investigation, all whilst having a ghost on your arse, then this is the game for you.
If you enjoyed Silent Hill's P.T''s concept of playing a game with both progressive and cinematic story driven horror, but also dealing with a constant looming haunt that keeps you on your toes the whole time, then this is for you.
One thing i will say (and this is just me) as someone who played P.T and ran for the hills ( no pun intended ;)) I found Visage doable an enjoyable, but still scary enough for me to feel challenged by the horror. Easily the second scariest horror I've played.

in short, Visage was like being being in an escape room with a ghost in it, now why wouldn't anybody like that?
