blustrkr's Race Driver: GRID Review Xbox 360, 20-50 hours played
I loved this game so much. It is a near-perfect hybrid of arcade and simulation racing. I have always been a fan of Codemasters' titles, but this one will always have a special place in my heart.
Loved the graphics. You have always been able to see a nice progression in visuals in the TOCA and Colin McRae series. Colors popped and the damage model for cars was much improved.
The soundtrack for it was pretty awesome. The opening menu music is still stuck in my head from time to time, years later:
The single player is a gem, with a decently wide variety of tracks and cars, along with different weather conditions. Never had trouble finding a game online, either. Was super fun playing with other people online, but as with other racing games everyone else is so good! Or I just suck haha. Occasionally you'd get some trolls who'd just crash into everyone, but of course you could control collision settings if you were the host.
