Mass Effect: Andromeda
As a huge fan of the Mass Effect series I was of course stoked when this game was announced. I know it got a lot of hate but I feel that it was very unfair. Graphics: Amazing. The environments are simply beautiful. I found myself wandering around just to stare at the visuals. One of the big gripes about this game was character models but that was quickly patched after release. Story: Top notch. Too many people complained because they wanted more Shep. I, personally, am glad they moved on to new characters and a new galaxy. I enjoyed..

SOMA
This is hands down one of the GREATEST horror games I have ever experienced. Made by Frictional Games--the same geniuses who concocted the Amnesias and the Penumbras (which I still have yet to play...)--this game not only scares you to death, but it forces you to think about your consciousness throughout the entire playthrough. If you enjoy a compelling, mind-blowing story while your bowels threaten to let loose--you're going to have the time of your life. The Gameplay: 8/10 Standard first person gameplay here. You traverse the levels and..

Halo: The Master Chief Collection
Going to expand on this much more later, but literally just the fact that I can now play Halo 3, Halo 3: ODST, Halo 4, and Halo Reach on PC - all of which never previously existed on PC - makes this game worth a 10. There were a lot of bugs in the beginning but 343 has been updating the hell out of this game for quite some time now. The other great thing about the Master Chief Collection is that cross platform play is enabled in the whole compilation. This is another feature that was of course not present in any of the original..

Amnesia: Rebirth
For anyone who enjoys horror, puzzles, or mind-bending story lines, Amnesia: The Dark Descent was widely known as the go-to game. That has been the crown of Frictional Game's achievement, and the main question is...does Rebirth compete, or can we just appreciate it for what it is? While it may be easy to compare to the past, I thought this game was incredible. Weird, yet incredible. I love myself some good survival horror, and this was everything I was looking for... The Gameplay: 8/10 Like standard Amnesia fashion: you have a..

Hell Let Loose
This is a solid game. I have been playing this a lot and it is very much worth the time. Gameplay: This is a fairly standard FPS. You choose a side (USA or Germany) and then commence in a 50v50 battle on HUGE maps. The landscapes and everything are made from Google Earth as to make them as realistic and accurate as possible to how it was in the 1940's. You have multiple squads, each with a Squad Leader. The SL can speak with the members of his squad as well as other SL's and the 1 Commander. If you aren't a SL you can only voice chat..

The Lord of the Rings: The Third Age
This game brings back memories. If you are a fan of LotR and RPG's then this is a perfect fit for you. I don't know how it holds up today but it sure is a great game. It has a great story that takes place in the background of what was happening in the trilogy. The characters are all great. You can upgrade weapons and armor as you progress through the game and in doing so your character appearance obviously changes. The combat system is a spot on clone of Final Fantasy X, I view that as a plus. ..

Tom Clancy's The Division 2: Warlords..
This expansion is decent, but not great. I spent $30 on this when it first launched, excited for a large new playable area: New York City, of course. You do get a beautiful rendition of NYC, and the playable area is quite nice. As usual, all of the artists at Massive Entertainment did a fantastic job of creating a realistic looking and detailed world. Unfortunately, aside from the main storyline (which can be wrapped up in 10 hours or less) there isn't too much to do here. With each season, you must recapture all of the Control Points..

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
As of this moment I have spent about 50 hours playing (with plenty more to do) and have had not a single issue. To be totally clear, I have not yet completed the main story but have spent plenty of time progressing in it and completing many side quests along the way. I think I have played enough to know that this game is really awesome and if you have a Nintendo Switch and even the most remote interest in RPGs, The game starts out with you being woken up towards the end of the Zelda series timeline. All of the other games that came out..

ISLANDERS
Love the minimalist style, but this game does get somewhat old rather quickly. I only made it to the third level so maybe I'm missing out on some stuff that only comes later in the game, and I will happily amend this review if so. I managed to pick the game up on sale from Steam for $2 so it wasn't a huge risk. Basically you fill up islands with various types of housing, farming, industry, etc units until the island is full (in which case it's game over) or until you pass a certain score threshold and can move onto the next island. There..

Assassin's Creed Odyssey
When you think of stealth, killing, and intriguing weapons--one of the first franchises that comes to mind is Assassin's Creed. From Ezio in the original, to Edward in Black Flag, and now Alexios in Odyssey, the assassin theme remains while changing the environment entirely. I haven't played Unity or Brotherhood (probably missing a game or two here...), but I've overall had a very positive experience with these games...Nobody has really made a Greek-themed assassin game before, so would this be a project that Ubisoft can proudly put on their..

BioShock
"A man chooses. A slave obeys." These iconic words have been ingrained in my mind ever since my first journey through the beautiful and horrific city of Rapture. Rapture is an underwater city found and built by Andrew Ryan in an era where ADAM is used as genetic upgrade material. This game is hands down one of my favorite games of all time (along with Bloodborne...I guess I tend to enjoy horrific "B" games...). I can't recommend this game enough. If you enjoy: 1. First Person Shooters 2. Horror elements and scary..

Bloodborne
Imagine you've been battling, dodging, and calculating your opponent’s every move. You're sweating, scared, but determined. Your eyes shift to the boss's health and you're just a sliver away from victory. As you land the final blow, after countless tries...a flood of dopamine hits you like a shot of heroin. PREY SLAUGHTERED lights up the screen and you feel like a goddamn champion. A bit dramatic, yes, but for those of you who know these feels--it's unlike any other in gaming. Bloodborne is one of my all-time favorite games that I've..

Detroit: Become Human
I had no idea what I was getting into as I never played the other two games that Quantic Dream had put out (Heavy Rain and Beyond: Two Souls). From the very first scene I was hooked on this game. The graphics are stunning, probably the best of any single player game that I have played. The character arcs are great as well as you really develop feelings for these people. This game is also decision driven and there are MULTIPLE ways that the story can go. Also, characters can live or they can die depending on what you do. Overall there is..

Fallout 76: Wastelanders
This is a really great FREE expansion for Fallout 76 and basically exactly what it needed! It adds just about everything you could want: NPCs, tons of branching dialogue, a bunch of new quests, lighting system tweaks, new music, new events, new settlements (with their own respective progression systems), new enemies, and more I'm probably forgetting to mention. I'm going to continue to update this review over the next couple weeks, because there's still just so much more to unpack. The only thing I've noticed that keeps this free expansion..

Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved
This little arcade game was originally included in Project Gotham Racing as an easter egg if you went around exploring in your garage. Eventually it became such a popular easter egg that it was made into a standalone downloadable title. Enter: Geometry Wars. It's quite simple in its premise: Asteroids on steroids. It can get very intense and very unforgiving as you start to progress to higher scores. There are several different modes, each adorned with its own beautiful colors and visuals. There are many different types of enemies, but..

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare
The graphics were very detailed and the story was really well written. Definitely one of my top 10 games, the new free add-on "Warzone" is very challenging but it's honestly really fun. I love the way you earn new attachments for each gun by using it more and more it makes you feel more attached to each gun you play with more and more, I'd suggest anyone who enjoys any of the previous COD's to try this game out or just the new add-on if you can't purchase the full game...

MLB The Show 20
As the only realistic MLB game available on the market, SDS continues to put out a solid product. The bread and butter of this game, in my opinion, continues to be the Diamond Dynasty mode. It is comparable to the Ultimate Team modes in the EA Sports titles. If you want to play but are only interested in single player modes, this game is packed. The March to October mode let's you choose whatever team you want and play key moments throughout the season to try and win a World Series. They also have the beloved Road to the Show mode where..

Battlefield 4
As a huge fan of Battlefield Bad Company 1 & 2, and Battlefield 3 (and Battlefield 2142) this was a perfect evolution for me. It was the first Battlefield on the new gen of consoles at the time, Xbox One and PS4. And as usual, DICE came through with a PC version. This extra horsepower of the new gen resulted in something that was very similar to its predecessors, but with a fresh coat of paint. It remained in the theater of modern combat but added quite a bit of everything. For the record, most of my time originally spent playing..
